Understanding the time
Bible reference: 1 Chronicles 12:32
Due to our title, as the Spiritual arm of CYON, we are leaders being that the Spiritual controls the physical
Spiritual treasure that money cannot buy
How to experience and exhibit these Spiritual treasures
- Job 28:23-28
- Proverbs 1:7
- Proverbs 9:9-11
Evidence of our time
- Matthew 24
- 2 Tim 3:1-5
Are the things mentioned in these passages happening?
Are you confident enough to say if the end comes and the trumpet sounds, we will go to heaven?
How to make heaven
- Romans 13:8-14
Comfort in trying times
- John 14:27
The importation of Bibles are declining due to technology, but we should be weary that technology does not substitute our faith.
Presently, it may look like technology is making things easy, e.g
- Instead carrying a Bible you can have it on your phone
- Instead of going to Mass, you can watch it on TV and on the Internet
Bibles on phone can easily be manipulated and exclude some passages. Hold on to the treasure you have in the Bible and study it, because a time will come where, *”People will stagger from sea to sea and roam from North to East, seeking the Word of the Lord, but they will not find it” – Amos 8:12*
You can hardly differentiate a Believer and a non believer, a Christian and a non christian
In understanding the time, you are to understand who you are as a Spiritual representer of youths in and outside the Church
In all you do, you are to lead people to Christ, through:
- The way you talk
- The way you walk
- The way you dress
- The way you work
- The way you conduct your business
- The way you use social media
- The way you relate and socialize with people
- Your education
- Your marriage
- Your life
As Spiritual leaders, if you do not lead people to Christ through your way of life then, “…Things that make people fall into sin are bound to happen, but how terrible for the one who makes them happen! It would be better for him if a large millstone were tied round his neck and he were thrown into the sea than for him to cause one of these ones to sin. So watch what you do! – Luke 17:1-3
We are in the convenience era, where we like doing things in our convenience to the point we have placed God and the things of God in that category
I will only go to Church and the gatherings of God’s people when it is convenient for me. Like the Pastor said in his homily, if this same rain that fell, which kept people at home were to fall on a working, school etc. day, they will go, but in the case of the things of God, it becomes not convenient. Forgetting the job, business, school etc., is a blessing from God.
I will only pray until when I have time and it’s convenient for me etc.
Food for thought
If God were to put us in the convenient category, as we do Him, would we survive?
- Light a match or lighter and put your finger there
- If you can withstand the burn for 2 mins, for just that finger, then you can bear the fire of hell
- If you can’t, then, what are you doing to make sure to do not go there
