What is Discipleship?
Discipleship is a call made by Jesus Christ to you to walk with Him & work with Him based on His own terms & conditions not yours.
The Cost of Discipleship
Discipleship means doing the will of God...NOT YOUR WILL
Matthew 7:21-23 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
21 “Not everyone who calls me Lord will enter God’s kingdom. The only people who will enter are those who do what my Father in heaven wants. 22 On that last Day many will call me Lord. They will say, ‘Lord, Lord, by the power of your name we spoke for God. And by your name we forced out demons and did many miracles.’ 23 Then I will tell those people clearly, ‘Get away from me, you people who do wrong. I never knew you.’
Discipleship means Living your life in the Spirit not in the flesh.
GAL 5 Vs 16-26
Discipleship means taking off & putting on as stated in
Colossians 3 Vs 5-17
Discipleship means Following Jesus daily with your challenges, pain and suffering
Luke 9:23 English Standard Version (ESV)
And he said to all, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.
Discipleship means loving Jesus above all humans e.g Father, mother, wife, child, friends, colleagues, superiors etc
Luke 14:25-33 English Standard Version (ESV)
25 Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. 27 Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? 29 Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, 30 saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’ 31 Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? 32 And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. 33 So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple.
English Standard Version (ESV)
